For spring 2017, Dior Homme inventive director Kris Van Assche remembered the creative children of his youth. “There is a sense of collective consciousness to the collection, a remix of shared boyhood memories,” the designer says in his show remarks. “I am interested in a synthesis of generations and filtering subcultures by way of my personal lens to tell a story.”

The story Van Assche was telling this season was one particular of thrilling occasions and playfulness. Taking inspiration from the codes of punk-rock style and neo-romanticism, the designer channeled the utopian atmosphere of a traveling playground, mixing elements of sportswear and work put on with a goth New Wave vibe. His models had on black nail polish, a way to show the daring spirit of arts and design and style students who try to appear “cool and challenging,” according to KVA.
